Kelley Returns to Marksmen after ECHL Call-Up

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Dillon Kelley became one of the hottest goaltenders in the SPHL during the Marksmen winning-streak, pulling off two shutouts in three games, and being named the Warrior SPHL Player of the Week.

Following his second shutout of the season for the Marksmen, Kelley was contacted by the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder, and promptly found his way into the starting lineup.

Now, one of the most-dominant goaltenders in the short-history of the Marksmen is back, and ready to return as part of a talented goalie-core, currently featuring Kelley, undefeated Nathan Perry (4-0, 1SO), and up-and-coming new-guy Cody Porter.

Being back in Fayetteville is something Kelley is honored to be.

“My time in the ECHL was a great experience. The coaching staff in Adirondack is top-notch, and I learned a lot throughout my time there. I appreciate the opportunity [there], but I’m very excited to be back in Fayetteville. I’m ready to take what I learned in the ECHL and apply it to my game,” said Kelley “I want to be better than I was before I left. I’m excited to start playing games again and begin another streak.”

The same sentiments were shared by Marksmen Head Coach Jesse Kallechy.

“Dillon is a great asset for our organization. He’s a talented, fierce-competitor on the ice, and off the ice he’s a noticeable locker room presence,” said Kallechy “Having him back gives us a dynamic tandem of goaltenders, and we’re definitely excited to have him back on our roster.”

We hope to see Kelley back on the ice in the Marksmen jersey this coming weekend against the Evansville Thunderbolts.
