Four Reasons You NEED To Attend Opening Night on October 19

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – After a long-awaited off-season in Cumberland County, the Fayetteville Marksmen professional hockey team is finally in the Month of Marksmen Hockey.

This month, especially the date of October 19, has long been on the mind of fans and staff, as we open our 2018-2019 season against our rival Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs here at the Crown Coliseum.

Why should you come out to Opening Night on October 19 though? We’ve made it very simple for you – with Opening Night 15 days away from today, October 4, here’s four reasons you have to be at the Crown on the 19th.

1. HOCKEY IS BACK – IT’S OPENING NIGHT!

Few things in life are more exciting than the rush and energy of a hockey game, on-and-off the ice. From big hits, 200-foot races down the ice, electrifying goals, and fights that inject adrenaline right into your bloodstream, hockey is what we do, and what we do best.

Especially in a state like North Carolina, hockey has fingerprints in every corner. With the Marksmen, you get the best mix of high-level excitement and action, at a cost that won’t give your wallet a game misconduct. Players who come through Fayetteville leave their passion on the ice as they compete in the top independent professional hockey league in North America, the Southern Professional Hockey League.

In year two of the Marksmen, the anticipation and expectation of excellence is reaching a fever-pitch under first year Head Coach Jesse Kallechy, and what promises to be an incredibly competitive camp with a mix of high-potential rookies and experienced professional hockey veterans.

Opening the 2018-2019 season against our rivals in Roanoke, a team that saw a number of fights and wild games against the Marksmen, sets the tone for what will be a season of nonstop battles on the ice.

Not to mention, Marksmen games at the Crown Coliseum provide the absolute best affordable-entertainment spot in all of southern North Carolina during the winter, with promotional nights for every game, and guaranteed enjoyment for the whole family, no matter their age. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never seen a hockey game in your life, or if you’re a diehard fan of the sport; we welcome all to come out and enjoy the ambiance of the environment!

Our tickets start as low as $10/person, with even more special offers and packages available below.

2. STATE-OF-THE-ART ARENA EXPERIENCE

The Crown Coliseum has quickly become one of the East Coast’s premier sports-and-entertainment venues, thanks to construction and improvements. With over 10,000 upper and lower bowl seats, on-ice and luxury suites, an upper deck bar and grille above the suites, plentiful parking and entrances, the prestige of our arena are obvious from the start.

NEW for the 2018-2019 season, fans will now immediately be greeted by a top-of-the-line, HD LED full-motion video board, with encompassing ribbons surrounding every level of the Crown Coliseum. This multi-million dollar project has propelled the Crown from one of the finest in the SPHL, to one of the finest in minor league hockey in the region.

As well, Marksmen games truly create a unique experience in minor league hockey. From players skating out of a tank onto the ice, to our tank zamboni, and soldiers repelling from the ceiling, being around a game at the Crown Coliseum truly creates an atmosphere unlike any other around.

With full concession stands ran by top-of-the-line arena food administrators, cold beer and adult beverages available throughout most parts of the arena, we bring you the sport and the sports bar all in one location. Plus, you know you’ll have a seat.

Add all that in with our new video board, the all-new Marksmen Hunnies cheerleading team, and all the festivities not even yet announced for Opening Night, and you’re wrapping a week’s worth of fun into one awesome night.

3. MARKY MARKSMEN

Our lovable goofball, your favorite mascot, and the world famous fox Marky Marksmen! Need we say more? This off-season, Marky has been everywhere around the community making friends, meeting people, and doing everything in his power to stay busy before his favorite time of the year – hockey season!

Marky has done just about everything this summer – from Go-Kart Racing, to his part-time jobs with our friends at Bojangles and Freddy’s, and even riding the rides at the Cumberland County fair, it’s likely you’ve had to have seen him somewhere.

At Marksmen games, you’ll notice him hyping up the crowd on or off the ice, being part of t-shirt tosses, unleashing his wide-array of dance moves, or usually being mobbed by the kids (he’s quite popular with them!).

Marky has been training especially hard this off-season, studying film and preparing to improve the entertainment he provides for fans every game night. This means even more dancing, more time on the video board, more fans and friends to meet, and more appearances around his favorite community.

With all this energy, Marky is going to be running around all over the Crown on Opening Night. You won’t want to miss the grand return of one of the best mascots in minor league hockey.
