FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – October 19 has a highly-anticipated night for months around Cumberland County, marking the return of Fayetteville Marksmen professional hockey for Opening Night.
Now, with just 32 days until the season kicks off, tickets for Opening Night have been released to the public!
October 19 is the first day of not only hockey back in Fayetteville, but is the first day league-wide for hockey in all of the Southern Professional Hockey League, and the Marksmen organization is proud and honored to be hosting for the kickoff of the league’s calendar.
Invading the Crown Coliseum at 7:00 P.M. against the Marksmen, is the rival and closest-foes in the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Last year, in the Marksmen inaugural season, we upset the Dawgs on their Opening Night with a nail-biting road victory, 4-3. We’ll look for a second-straight-season started by downing the Dawgs, who finished with the final playoff spot in the SPHL last year as the #8 seed.
There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to this season’s Opening Night: new Head Coach Jesse Kallechy, a dynamically-skilled young hockey team, an all new State-of-the-Art LED video board, ribbons that wrap around the arena, and of course, the return of a 56-game war of hockey.
As previously stated, this is the first-time in Marksmen history that they’ve opened the season at home, and with so much expected and anticipated following last year, there’s truly no place like home.
We can’t wait for Opening Night, and are so excited to see our fans and friends at the Crown Coliseum on October 19, as we look to start the season 1-0.
