Offensive-Minded Rookie Set to Join the Marksmen

Fayetteville, N.C-  The Fayetteville Marksmen have signed rookie forward, Tomas Nemeth to the camp roster, the team announced on Friday.

A native of Bratislava, Slovakia, Nemeth comes to the Marksmen entering his first season of professional hockey. Last season, the 6-foot, 190-pound winger suited up for the South Muskoka Shield, of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League. In 30 games of action for the Shield, Nemeth earned 83-points (39 goals, 44 assists).

Prior to last season, the 22-year-old skated for three different teams (Wichita Jr. Thunder, Long Beach Bombers, Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers) in the Western States Hockey League over a four-year span (2012-16). During that time, Nemeth posted an impressive 2.20 points per game average, playing in 148 games while notching 115 goals and 210 assists. Nemeth earned league honors after the 2013/14 season, having amassed the most assists (75) of any player in the WSHL.

In his first season (2011/12) of junior hockey, Nemeth earned rookie of the year honors in the GMJHL, with a 56-point campaign (17goals, 39assists), while lacing up for the Elliot Lake Bobcats.

During his six-year junior career, Nemeth finished with at least 100-points on the season three times (2013/14, 14/15, 15/16), with his career-best 105 points coming during the 14/15 season.
