Marksmen acquire forward Cameron Cook from Thunderbolts

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, have acquired forward Cameron Cook from the Evansville Thunderbolts in exchange for defenseman Chays Ruddy.

Cam is a dynamic forward who is a proven scorer in the SPHL,” said Head Coach Ryan Cruthers. “He adds important elements to our locker room, being a former captain and having won two championships at the junior level. His experiences will help our team in many ways, as we continue to build our identity as a group.

Cook, 25, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, played 77 games for Evansville across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, and scored 63 (26G+37A) points.

The left-handed point-producer has appeared in 18 ECHL games and has recorded 3 assists. Prior to attending Niagara University, Cook played junior hockey for parts of four seasons in the NAHL, winning the Robertson Cup in 2016 with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, and in 2018 with the Shreveport Mudbugs as a captain.
