Marksmen Ink Rookie

Fayetteville, N.C- Rookie, PJ Hefferin joins the Marksmen for the 2017/18 season, the team announced on Tuesday.

Hefferin joins the Marksmen following successful four-year campaign with Lebanon Valley College of the NCAA III. The right-winger came to the Dutchmen for the 2013/14 season, after transferring from Becker College. In 29 games that season, Hefferin tallied 21 points (14 goals, 7 assists).

The 2014/15 season was Hefferin’s best, statistically speaking in his time at Lebanon. After being named Captain of the team, he went on to notch 10 goals, 17 assists for a total of 27 points on the season, in 31 games of service.
The native of Daytona Beach, Florida continued his steady play into the following season. Lacing up for 30 games, Hefferin deposited six goals among 26 points on the season.

For his senior season, Hefferin put up respectable numbers, despite only suiting up for 19 contests. In those games, he tallied five goals and two assists for a seven- point total on the season.

Following his final game with the Dutchmen, Hefferin joined the Danbury Titans of the Federal Hockey League. In his 10 games with the Titans, he added four goals and finished with an impressive plus-five +/- rating.

Prior to turning pro, Hefferin skated for the Hampton Roads Whalers of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League from 2008-2010. In his two seasons with the Whalers, he tallied a total of 71 points (31 goals, 40 assists).
Beginning the 2011/12 season with the Portland Junior Pirates, Hefferin found himself with the Palm Beach Hawks to finish out that campaign. In 36 games between the two teams, he scored nine goals among 16 assists, for a 25-point total on the season.

For his final season in juniors, Hefferin rejoined the Hampton Roads Whalers and matched his juniors career-high total of 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists).
