FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, announced Friday that they have signed defenseman Casper Söderling for the 2026-27 season.
Söderling, 25, from Stockholm, Sweden, comes to the Marksmen after completing a four-year collegiate career that began with NCAA division-I American International College, and ended with NCAA division-III Curry College. In 16 games for AIC, Söderling recorded four points (1 g, 3 a) and in 45 games for Curry, he tallied 20 points (6 g, 14 a).
“Casper has had a very successful collegiate career, and we look forward to him contributing offensively and bringing his well-rounded skill set to the back end,” said Head Coach Garrett Rutledge. “He’s going to be a fun player to watch in a Marksmen uniform. Adding this type of player to the stable has the coaching staff very excited.”
Söderling spent most of his career in Sweden before playing in the NCAA, including 27 professional games with Nacka HK in Division 2. In those games, Söderling recorded 18 points (2 g, 16 a). He also spent two years in the NAHL with the Maine Nordiques, recording 45 points (11 g, 34 a) in 94 games.
The Marksmen are preparing for the 2026-27 season before they take the ice again in October. Secure your season tickets today at marksmenhockey.com
