FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, announced Saturday that they have signed goaltender Jacob Mucitelli for the 2026-27 season.
Mucitelli, 26, from Deerfield, N.Y., comes to the Marksmen after a strong first year of professional hockey, primarily with the Birmingham Bulls. In 14 games for Birmingham, Mucitelli had a 7-5-2 record, with a .918 save-percentage, and 3.02 goals-against average with one shutout. He also earned multiple ECHL call-ups, going 2-0-1 with a .901 save-percentage and 2.85 goals-against average in five games with the Tahoe Knight Monsters and Utah Grizzlies.
“Jacob is a high end goalie that has had success at every level he has played,” said Head Coach Garrett Rutledge. “We look forward to having him with the Marksmen. Jake comes highly recommended from his teammates and can’t we wait for our fans to see him in the net.”
Mucitelli comes from a strong collegiate background, where he played three years of NCAA division-I hockey. His first two seasons were spent with Clarkson University, where he went 8-0-1 in 11 appearances for the school. He then transferred to University of Maine, where he suited up in four games for the Black Bears during the 2023-24 season. He then transferred to NCAA division-III Aurora University, where he played in 46 games over two seasons for the school.
“I’m very excited to get going in Fayetteville,” said Mucitelli. “There is definitely going to be a change with where the standard is in this locker room, and it’s exciting to be part of a brand new roster with a new coaching staff who is looking to come to Fayetteville and create a team with a winning mindset right from the start.”
The Marksmen start training camp next week ahead of their exhibition game against the Pee Dee IceCats on October 10. Secure your tickets today to the Marksmen home opener on Saturday, October 17 at 6 pm at marksmenhockey.com
