FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, announced Monday that they have signed defenseman Bryan Huggins for the 2026-27 season.
Huggins, 24, from Grand Rapids, Mich., comes to the Marksmen after a four-year collegiate career with NCAA division-I Lake Superior State University, where he recorded 18 points (2 g, 16 a) over 125 games with the school. His point total increased every year over the course of his time with the Lakers, and it culminated in Huggins making his professional debut at the end of last season with the ECHL’s Greensboro Gargoyles. In three games with the Gargoyles, Huggins recorded two assists and a +3 rating.
Prior to his collegiate career, Huggins played four years in the American Junior hockey circuit between the NAHL and USHL. The first three of those years were spent primarily in the NAHL, highlighted by a full season with the Maryland Black Bears in the 2020-21 season. He spent the 2021-22 season with the Fargo Force in the USHL before heading to Lake Superior State University.
The Marksmen have their final week of training camp this week as they prepare to take on the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in their season opener on Friday night, before Opening Night presented by Jaggers on Saturday, October 17 at 6 pm. Secure your tickets today at marksmenhockey.com
