FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, announced Wednesday that they have signed forward Blake Humphrey for the 2026-27 season.

Humphrey, 24, from Syracuse, N.Y., joined the Marksmen last season after beginning the year with NCAA DI Lake Superior State University. He played parts of four years in NCAA DI, the first two with Sacred Heart University before transferring to Lake Superior State. Between the two schools, Humphrey played 96 games, scoring 28 points (8 g, 10 a).

“It’s a pleasure to get Blake back with the Marksmen, he will be relied upon upfront this season.” said Head Coach Garrett Rutledge. “Blake has everything you want in a hockey player, so to be able to get him back is huge for the organization. I am excited to watch his development and growth with us.”

Last season with the Marksmen, Humphrey provided a scoring touch, with 23 points (13 g, 10 a) in his 39 games with the team. He earned a call-up after the Marksmen’s season had ended with the ECHL’s Greensboro Gargoyles, recording an assist in his six games with the Carolina Hurricanes affiliate.

Humphrey said, “I’m excited to be a part of this new chapter in Fayetteville and get back to a winning culture!”
