MARKSMEN COMPLETE WEEKEND SWEEP OVER BULLS

PELHAM, Ala. – The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, defeated the Birmingham Bulls 4-2 on Saturday night.

Arkhip Ledziankou potted home the lone tally of the period on a one-time pass from Filimon Ledziankou and Jamie Dorsey, 9:40 into the opening frame to make it 1-0.

Tim Kent found the loose change on a net front scramble 6:56 into the second, evening the score 1-1, set up by John Moncovich and Graeme McCrory. Another flurry of chaos on the doorstep went right to the tape of John Moncovich, making it 2-1 17:32 into the period, with Graeme McCrory and Blake Holmes picking up the helpers to close out the middle frame scoring.

Graeme McCrory fired home a rocket from the top of the circle, off a pass from Mike Moran, making it 3-1 5:34 into the final period. Paul Maust logged the first of his professional career at 13:09, set up by Blake Holmes and Sam Anzai, making it 4-1. Arkhip Ledziankou tallied one more for Birmingham at 15:15, set up by Shane Murphy to close out the scoring 4-2.

Colby Muise stopped 28-of-30 in the Marksmen win and Hayden Stewart stopped 37-of-41 in the Bulls’ effort.

Fayetteville and Birmingham will have a rematch on Wednesday, Nov. 26, as the Marksmen return home for Blackout Wednesday. Puck drop from the Crown Coliseum is set for 7 p.m. EST, with the game being broadcast on FloSports.
