Marksmen Add Two Via Trade with Dawgs

Fayetteville, N.C- The Fayetteville Marksmen continued the overall of the roster with their second trade in as many days. Chris Porter has been dealt to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in exchange for defensemen Mitchell Mueller and Ben Bauer, the team announced Thursday morning.

Mueller, 23, is in his second season of professional hockey, having began his pro career with the Peoria Rivermen before heading to the FHL with the Danville Dashers for a short stint before joining the Rail Yard Dawgs for the final 26 games of the 2016/17 season. This season, the native of Bakersfield, California has appeared in 19 games, registering nine points (4G, 5A) for the Dawgs, and was called up to the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, skating in 17 contests in Hampton Roads.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-4, 227-pound rearguard skated in 19 games at American International College, where he was a teammate of Porter’s.

Bauer, 26, comes to the Marksmen for his second season of professional hockey, having began his pro career with the Columbus Cottonmouths, before joining the Dawgs for the final 11 games of the season. In 35 contests with the Dawgs this year, the native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania has notched seven points (2G, 5A).

Before turning pro, Bauer skated for Castleton University, appearing in 36 games and totaling nine points (2G, 7A), between 2013 and 2016.
