Marksmen Add Schiavo to Roster

Fayetteville, N.C-  Forward John Schiavo joins Brad Drobot and Jake Hauswirth on the Marksmen roster, the team announced on Thursday.

The 23-year-old native of East Patchogue, New York is a two-year veteran of the professional hockey ranks, spending time in the ECHL, SPHL, and FHL. Last season, Schiavo split time amongst four teams; the Watertown Wolves (FHL), Danbury Titans (FHL), Huntsville Havoc, and Mississippi RiverKings. In 14 games of action at the SPHL level, Schiavo amassed eight points (1 goal, 7 assists). Prior to the 2016/17 season, the 5’10” forward spent his rookie season with the Macon Mayhem and the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL).

In total, Schiavo has appeared in 65 professional contests, totaling 39 points (12 goals, 27 assists).

Prior to turning pro, Schiavo skated in 38 games for the New York Bobcats of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. For the 2013/14 season, he joined the P.A.L Junior Islanders of the United States Premier Hockey League. Schiavo concluded his junior career skating in 58 contests for the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Hockey League.
