Kalisz Returns to Fayetteville

November 8, 2017

Fayetteville, N.C-  The Fayetteville Marksmen have signed forward Joe Kalisz, the team announced on Wednesday.

Kalisz returns to the Marksmen after spending the first portion of the season with the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL, but did not appear in any games.

The 2016-17 season was Kalisz’s first in the professional ranks, after a three-year career at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. The 25-year-old’s rookie campaign saw him compete in 48 games, while adding 18 goals among 35 points, with a plus-12 +/- rating.

While at Stevens Point, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward averaged over one point per game (1.13) with 45 goals and 55 assists in 88 games of service for the Pointers.

Kalisz also led a successful junior career, with the bulk of his time spent in the NAHL with the St. Louis Bandits. His best statistical season with the Bandits came during the 2011/12 campaign when he led the league in goals (40) and points (91) on his way to earning league honors as the Most Valuable Player.

In a separate transaction, the Marksmen have waived forward PJ Hefferin.
